My good friend, Interior Decorator Maria Rosso-Gibbs and I had the pleasure of attending a meet and greet event with Celebrity Interior Designer Thom Filicia. The event was hosted by IBB Design Fine Furnishings, an incredible interior design showroom located in Frisco, Texas. With a room full of designers, we mingled, enjoyed champagne cocktails and nibbles, talked decorating and shopped. We also had a chance to receive a signed copy of Thom’s latest book, American Beauty: Renovating and Decorating a Beloved Retreat and chat him up a bit. He’s such a nice guy! Check out a few photos from the event. Be sure to visit IBB Design and grab a copy of Thom’s book!
I absolutely love classic subway tiles. The 3″x6″ white tiles are timeless and give a clean look to any room. If you’re looking to jazz the tiles up a bit, think out the box with different patterns and arrangements.
1. Stacked – This linear pattern gives a more modern feel to a space.
2. Running Bond – The classic brick pattern never gets old, but give it even more pizzazz with dark grout.
3. Herringbone – This pattern adds movement and becomes an instant work of art. Perfect for a backsplash or even a shower.
4. Custom Running Bond – Take the running bond pattern to the next level by creating a custom layout. The 90 degree turn on each row gives the wall a very cool effect.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving break! I’m just returning from vacation, and now it’s time to get back into the swing of things. I wanted to share a few photos from my travels last week to one of my favorite cities, New Orleans. I had such a great time. The food, the music, the energy. The city just makes me happy. I’m always amazed when I meet someone from the States who’s never visited the city. If you haven’t, you must. It’s a gem. Full of rich culture, history and good people. It’s really impossible not to have a good time.
Well since today is my Monday and there’s tons to do, this will be short and sweet. Have a fantastic week all!
